Zombies Ate My Neighbors

I met up with my friend Phil, and his girlfriend Lisa. We ate delicious Peking Duck in Chinatown, but not at "Peking Duck House", some place better! Oh. The duck was so good. I'm still eating it... in my imagination. Mmmmmmmm. Duck.

Phil just directed a short film titled
"Come Wander with Me". It sort of feels like an archtypal fairytale, nostalgic of a 1950s Hollywood film, but updated, and in color. heh. It looks really nice! The DP of the film is Dariusz Wolski, who was the Director of Photography on all 3 of the "Pirates of the Caribean" films and "Sweeney Todd". Check out Phil's film, as well as a few other shorts at Little Minx's website: http://littleminx.tv/

Man. Its so good to go out and eat great food. I've known Phil for 10 years now, and he's one of my closest friends. Being around such an old friend like that, I naturally let my guard down, and just feel like a kid again.

I've been feeling really sad lately. I think its a combination of it being the dead of winter and the passing of all the holidays. Also, for some reason everyone in New York City has the flu. At least 15 of my friends are sick right now! Everyone is in bed, passed out on decongestants. I was also sick for a week, and I couldn't do much of anything at all. I'm not sick anymore though. I feel great physically, but I still need to shake off this sadness, and lift myself up spiritually. That dinner was a great start.

Edit: February 22nd, 2008
1 week later, we all went there again for dinner. ahah.
Now I think I've eaten enough duck to last for a while. :)

18-1

I attended an official Giant's Victory party at Tenjune with Sabrina and her bro Ryan. The entire team was there, including Eli Manning. I didn't get to meet all of the Giants, because the place was kind of a madhouse, but the ones I did meet, were just really down to earth and super happy. Hahahah. I guess anyone would be after winning the Super Bowl. :)

Below is a video of the final drive of the game. I like it 'cause you get the experience the action with the crowd, including the taunts of Pat fans jeering "Eli... Eli...". It also documents the best play of Eli's career (at 2 minutes into the vid). The G-men played their hearts out this weekend. Go New York!

Da Mystery of Chess Boxin'

Cass sent me this vid of a new sport from Poland. Its called "Chess Boxing"! Wow, what a concept. Basically, you fight for 1 round of boxing. Then play 1 round of chess. Then 1 round of boxing. Then 1 round of chess, etc. Both games are played using their respective set of traditional rules. Once you lose either at chess or boxing, you lose entirely. Chess Boxing looks like a lot of fun! I'm going to see if any of my friends want to try it out. lol
